I’ve never actually had Levain even though one just opened near me but this is what I imagine it tastes like. I’ve been trying out a bunch of cakey cookie recipes and this might be my favorite.

Instructions
Brown the butter (1 cup) in a saucepan until golden, then let it cool.
Cream browned butter, brown sugar (1 cup), and granulated sugar (½ cup).
Mix in eggs (2) one at a time.
Stir together cake flour (1 ½ cups), all-purpose flour (1 ½ cups), cornstarch (1 tsp), baking soda (¾ tsp), and salt (¾ tsp), then add to the wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate (2 cups) and mix until just combined.
Scoop large dough balls onto a light-colored baking sheet (4 per sheet).
Top each ball with extra chocolate chunks and press into the dough.
Bake at 410 °F for 9-12 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving and enjoy!
